Privacy Policy
What we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have — in plain language.
Last updated: September 22, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Answero (“Answero,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website and platform (the “Service”). It applies to Creators, Askers, and visitors to our website, wherever you’re located, including the UK, EU, and US.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information (Creators): name, email address, display name, tagline, profile photos, page settings, and Stripe account connection details (we do not store your full Stripe account credentials — this is handled directly by Stripe).
- Transaction information (Askers): name and email address, collected via Stripe Checkout when you submit a paid question. We do not directly collect or store your card details — these are processed and stored by Stripe.
- Content: the questions and answers exchanged through the Service.
- Usage data: pages visited, actions taken on the Service, device and browser information, IP address, and approximate location, collected automatically via cookies and similar technologies.
- Communications: if you contact our support team, we retain a record of that correspondence.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate and maintain the Service (e.g., delivering questions and answers, processing payments, sending transactional emails);
- Send you emails related to your account, transactions, and use of the Service (new question notifications, answer delivery, refund confirmations);
- Send you marketing and promotional emails about Answero features, updates, and offers, where you have signed up for a Free or Pro account or otherwise given us a basis to do so (see Section 6 below for how to opt out);
- Improve, secure, and troubleshoot the Service;
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service;
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. Legal Basis for Processing (UK/EU Users)
Where UK or EU data protection law applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — to provide the Service you’ve signed up for (account operation, payment processing, question/answer delivery).
- Legitimate interests — to improve our Service, prevent fraud, and communicate with existing customers about relevant product updates.
- Consent — where required, such as for certain marketing communications or non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation — where we’re required to retain or disclose information to comply with the law.
6. Marketing Emails
If you sign up for an Answero account (Free or Pro), we may send you marketing emails about product updates, tips, and offers, in addition to transactional emails about your account. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by contacting support@answero.app. You cannot opt out of essential transactional emails (e.g., payment confirmations, refund notices) while you continue to use the Service, as these are necessary to operate your account.
7. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention obligations. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable timeframe, except where we’re required to retain it by law (e.g., financial transaction records).
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate information;
- Request deletion of your information;
- Object to or restrict certain processing;
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format;
- Withdraw consent, where processing is based on consent;
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (e.g., the ICO in the UK).
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@answero.app. US residents (including California residents under the CCPA/CPRA) have similar rights to access, delete, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — as noted above, we do not sell personal information.
9. International Data Transfers
Answero operates globally, and your information may be processed in countries outside your own, including the United States and the EU/UK. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we take reasonable steps to ensure it’s protected consistently with this Privacy Policy and applicable law (for example, using standard contractual clauses where required).
10. Children's Privacy
Answero is not directed at, and should not be used by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we’ve collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it.
11. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll notify you by email or via a notice on the Service.
